Solo

Chris’s latest solo project is called Music That Shaped America. Armed with a piano and his personable stage presence, Chris begins with the ragtime music of Scott Jopin, and takes listeners on a journey through the music and melodies that have been shaping the hearts and minds of North Americans over the last hundred years. Performances include classics from The Great American Songbook and the Disney Songbook such as Hoagy Carmichael’s Georgia, Erroll Garner’s Misty, Victor Young’s My Foolish Heart, Someday my Prince Will Come from Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and So This is Love from Cinderella.

In addition, special homage is paid to one of America’s most recognizable composers, George Gershwin. Chris performs Gershwin’s piano arrangements of his popular tunes such as S’Wonderful, Lady Be Good and I’ve Got Rhythm and pairs them with his own personal, contemporary renditions. Lastly, Chris performs one of Gershwin’s most famous, identifiable pieces, Rhapsody in Blue.


Wolak / Donnelly Duo

Armed with a clarinet, a piano and their personable stage presence, Kornel Wolak and Chris Donnelly present a remarkable blend of classical and jazz music rarely heard in live performance. From revered classical pieces such as Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major, to Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue, and Oscar Peterson’s classic Hymn to Freedom, Chris and Kornel captivate audiences with virtuosity, familiar melodies and a profound passion for music and performing.

Throughout the program, Chris and Kornel also showcase their talent as solo artists. Kornel’s selections include J.S Bach’s violin works transcribed for the clarinet. Chris’s solo works include classics from The Great American Songbook and the Disney Songbook such as Hoagy Carmichael’s Georgia and So This is Love from Disney’s Cinderella.

Myriad

Myriad is a new piano trio in the Toronto jazz landscape featuring Chris Donnelly on piano, Dan Fortin on bass, and Ernesto Cervini on drums. The band is a collective in the true sense of the word. Each band member offers their own compositions to the band rep as well as offering their unique voices to the group.
