I came across two documents on the AFA website.
This first is Music Grant Writing 101, which contains a number of lists, checkpoints and questions that all grant writers should address in their proposals. It also has a list of reasons why proposals are turned down.
The second document is a tip sheet with specific ways you can maximize your application’s potential. Briefly, the six points are:
- Contact the consultant
- Presentation matters
- Balance your budget
- Tell the jury what they need to know
- Choose your support materials carefully
- Expect nothing
