How can we measure the level of an artist’s technique?

I’m going to propose it should be based on how difficult it is to replicate. Of course, an artist’s technique can never be replicated 100%, but we can come close!

The more difficult it is to replicate, the more complex an artist’s technique.

Monk had superior technique!
